Our Favorite Products

EOS
Jendaya: OMG my new favorite lip balm. Now I know I said that I used coconut oil on my lips when we were talking about our favorite products but when I'm out running around on the NYC subways the last thing I want to do is dip my finger in as jar of coconut oil and touch my lips. EW. Now if you live in NYC you totally understand what I'm talking about and this is where EOS comes in. Unlike regular chap stick that's filled with petroleum and other weird stuff that just provides a  thick greasy barrier over your lips EOS actually treats a chapped lip as opposed to just coating it.You don't have to constantly reapply it and it doesn't leave that thick coated feeling on your lips and if your anything like me you HATE that! Whats even better than the fact that it gives you naturally soft lips (oh yeah and it smells great!) is that it's organic! How awesome is that?! Oatmeal

We both eat oatmeal every morning. It gives you the greatest energy boost and it's one of the best ways to start your off your day. I (Jendaya) like to add cinnamon to it but if you want something quicker like Jalia then you may just want to buy the packets of the flavor of your choice. It's also a great addition to any home concoction that we make to moisturize our skin.

Coconut Oil

Jendaya: Coconut oil is a GREAT moisturizer for everything! I usually use it on my hair as a pre-conditioner and for my lips instead of a balm.
( as a preconditioner): Before I wash my hair I drench my hair with coconut oil and let it sit for 2 hrs before washing it out. This is great for natural sisters like myself whose curls are dry. It'll leave you're hair feeling marvelously moisturized and not stripped.
Jalia: Personally because I love the smell of coconut oil I use it for everything. I use it as a pre-conditioner AND after I wash and condition my hair normally. This is great for girls that have hair that may not need something as heavy as shea butter. I use it during the week (more so during the winter) at night when I do my hair for the next day. I ALSO use coconut oil for my skin INSTEAD of lotion everyday after I take a shower. Leaves me feeling moisturized and smelling like coconut from head to toe!

Shea Butter
Jendaya: Another great moisturizer is Shea Butter! Holy smokes this stuff is great! I use shea butter for my skin right after I get out of the shower. When you buy it in its purest form, meaning straight off of the shea nut, its very much like clay. All you do to use as a skin moisturizer is scrape a ball of it in your hand then rub it together like you're playing with play doe and it'll melt right in your hand. When I use it on my hair usually melt it in hot water before I do a twist/braid out or detangle.
Jalia: Although I love coconut oil, sometimes it is not enough. For those who live in cold environments, shea butter is a nice addition to your daily routine. If you don't want to put oil in your hair everyday then you can put shea butter in your hair a few times a week (depending on the dryness of your hair) to keep it feeling moisturized!

Olive Oil
Jalia: For some, olive oil works wonders for their skin and hair. For me I only use olive oil as a pre-conditioner. About an hour before I wash my hair, I put LOTS in my hair which makes it easier to comb once it gets wet.

Being that we are product junkies and are always experimenting we'll be sure to keep you updated if we find something new that we LOVE!
